Meet the Locals: Bles-wold Dairy

Bles-wold Dairy’s origin can be traced to a mother’s love for her daughter. Owner and recipe creator, Tinie Eilers, and her family had recently emigrated from Holland to Canada and her diabetic teenage daughter was having a hard time adjusting. Tinie found her daughter’s diet was suffering, and sought to find foods she would enjoy and eat. Tinie’s brother, who had a small commercial yogurt business on his farm in Holland, sent her a pasteurizer and a recipe for a mild yogurt with no sweetener. Soon, she was making a large quantity every day for her daughter, as well as friends and neighbors. When Tinie’s husband Hennie suggested she turn it into a business it wasn't long before Tinie was at the Lacombe and Ponoka Farmers’ Markets sharing her yogurt with the public.
